Discover what the Romans would do when it’s too cold to play outside!
The safety of our visitors and staff are paramount during the current Covid-19 pandemic, and we have put in place all necessary measures to ensure you have a quality and engaging experience with your family, in a safe environment. Your visit will look slightly different to how you will have visited in the past, but you will still encounter living interpretation, with staff dressed in authentic Roman costume. You will still be able to explore the site and discover the Lunt Roman Fort’s place in our rich Roman history, and all children will be able to take part in our half term activities.
What has changed?
You will need to book your visit in advance, via Eventbrite.
You will be able to choose a timed slot, giving you access to the site for 2 hours.
We are following the 2-meter social distancing Government guidelines, meaning our site is working at a reduced visitor capacity. As a result, we will not accept visitors onsite if they have not booked in advance.
Our shop will be open for purchasing souvenirs; however, we are operating on a cash-lite system, and where possible we will require payment via contactless methods.
The public toilets will be operating on a one-in, one-out system. Parents may enter the toilet facilities with their children, but please follow the guidelines outlined on signage around the facilities to keep a safe distance from other households, and remain outside the toilet block until it is available for you to enter.
In line with the latest Government guidelines the wearing of masks in our indoor spaces is mandatory for all those aged 11 and over. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in entry to our Granary building being refused.
